ABOUT THE AUTHOR...
David Drum, the author of Final Warning: Return of the Neanderthals, is an independent writer who has worked as a newspaper reporter, a ranch foreman, a craps dealer, an encyclopedia salesman, a funeral director, a hot tamale salesman, and an inner-city schoolteacher.
Mr. Drum's novels include Heathcliff: The Lost Years, a historical adventure romance based on the three years Heathcliff was absent from Wuthering Heights, and the outrageously funny comedy Introducing the Richest Family in America.
Nonfiction books written or co-written by Mr. Drum include The Chronic Pain Sourcebook; Alternative Therapies for Diabetes; Polycystic Liver Disease: Information for Patients; and Failure to Atone: The Story of a Jungle Surgeon in Vietnam, with Allan Hassan, MD, JD, DVM.
As the founder and resident artist at Burning Books Press, Mr. Drum has also written and created more than a dozen limited edition artist’s books, some of which have been acquired by major collections such as the Museum of Modern Art Library. Mr. Drum's artist's books and mail art have been featured in shows domestically and abroad.
He is also the author of Façade, a bunch of poems, published by Michael Lally’s O Press in New York.
As an independent writer, Mr. Drum's articles have appeared in many publications including People, USA Today, and The Hollywood Reporter. He was president of the Independent Writers of Southern California for two years.
Mr. Drum has an MFA from the University of Iowa’s Writers Workshop, a BA from the University of California at Riverside, and an AA in liberal arts from Brevard College. He lives in Los Angeles.
